We Owe It To Facebook

Yes, I have to thank Facebook. Not the addiction, No....! (am ashamed of that though... hihihi) But for being the source of me getting reconnected with friends whom I have lost contact with.

Over the weekend I was at my parents' & somehow, managed to sneak out from the girls. (Apparently none of them bothered about me at all. They were busy turning my parents' house to a shipwreck with their cousins). The plan was to meet at a cafe near Ampang Puteri but at the last minute I changed the venue to a Fish Spa at Carrefour, Wangsa Maju. ( I was driving & read a bunting about a new Fish Spa. The words I saw were "Fish Spa", "Carrefour", "Wangsa Maju". Confidently changed the venue without considering what was the preposition used, "near" or "at"). To make a long story short, we could not find the spa. Obviously the preposition I missed was "near". Still we failed to look for the spa near Carrefour... ( Could the preposition be "opposite"? I really didn't check what was opposite Carrefour!). In the end, we agreed on a kopitiam - Hometown Coffee Station or something...

My friend whom I was searching high & low for is not other than Sheena Sara Aini. Such beautiful name matches her in person. We were in school together. Way in 1983 to 1986. One of my very good buddies when I was in primary school. We totally lost contact & in FB,we found in each other. She shares the same profession as I am & our 2 hrs meet definitely needs a follow up.

Sheena, any plan yet for next weekend? ;-) Perhaps this time we can include the kids. To my other friends whom I found in FB but have not the chance to meet yet... let's have a rain check! ;-)

This was what we had. (Well... I can't recall what it's called. Care to help me here Sheena?)

Here is my dear friend Sheena

This is Sheena with her good friend ;-)

Hi Jabishah, I have heard of 'facebook, but never got into it...how do you find old friends there?
Your friend looks lovely, and so is that, ahemmm, lady in red.
Bet you both made heads turn, huh? Ha ha. Lee.

Hello Uncle,
Facebook is the in thing nowadays. Most people have an account & if your old friend is also in FB, the chance of you meeting him/her is almost a yes. The problem might be the names they register. Like me, lots of mine find it difficult to get me because I do not use my first name. Thank to my unique surname though.
Not only that, in FB some members create grps. Esp for schools & colleges or unis. This was when I felt like hugging my laptop. I found lots of old friends in those grps.
As for Sheena, she registered quite recently. I was a member last year during my confinement. Was bored at home, my companion was my laptop. Couldn't trace her on my first attempt. It was a couple of months back, I searched for her again & I found her.
Happy Facebooking!

Hi Ja,
I've never triend FB. Heard about it tho.

Kak Ja still have good contact with my primary school friends (1973-1978), my MRSM friends (1979-1981) and my post-SPM friends. Cuma yg lost contact are those from my Univ years friends.

Anyway, cherish them while you can ok. Remember good friends are hard come by!

Ja honey,
True enough FB has done wonders! I found old flames there too...hihi. All married though (eh why mention this?). So now is very platonic base of course....

I have mastered the art of ignoring unnecessary applications on FB. Tak kuasa nak layan!

Have been meaning to create a FB account, but, still have not got up to doing it! Would be wonderful if I could trace back all my friends from primary school.

My hubby keeps in touch with his primary school friends via FB, and they have in fact organized meetings/gatherings/games a few times the past couple of months ni. They're planning a Reunion Dinner end of this year, insya Allah.

The magic of FB, eh?! :)
